JOB DESCRIPTION
ROLE SYNOPSIS
The Planning & Performance Manager is responsible GBS Asia in-year performance reporting and monitoring including actuals, variance analysis, forecasting and the statutory reporting requirement. The role has key interfaces with Business Accounts Management (BAM), Global Sourcing and Service Transformation (GSST), Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) on the GBS Asia activities and recharges.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure transactions and results of GBS Asia are recorded, reported and forecast with integrity, transparency and in a timely manner in support of Group Reporting requirement.
- Responsible for the timely actuals and variance analysis on financial data and providing commentary on the effectiveness of the cost tracking and recovery, and overall financial position.
- Provide GBS Asia financial information for the reporting and auditing of the BP BSC Asia Sdn Bhd legal entity accounts
- Communicate of financial information to the GBS Asia Leadership Team (LT) and provide input on findings and performance insights
- Responsible for in-year performance monitoring and quarterly GFO / forecasting process and submission to the GBS Central team
- Support the Planning & Performance Manager on the annual plan process
- Lead the GBS Asia costs allocation and recharge processes (for both management and statutory reporting) and resolve any related issues
- Support the Change Control Process (CCP) and maintenance of data processing flow with various stakeholders including input into the service catalogue
- Work with Business Account Management (BAM) to monitor and improve the cost recovery mechanism according to GBS practice and communication of the financial information
- Support BAM in providing GBS Asia charges details for communication to GBS Asia stakeholders and business partner
- Support BAM in liaising with BPO team in respect of BPO financial information (cost and recharges) reported via GBS Asia and within the Global BAM accountabilities
- Support the Global Sourcing and Service Transformation Team (GSST) in project controls and financial reporting in:
- developing business case, validating assumptions and other information used
- appropriate accounting and tax policies on project spend
- present and socialize the business case for finalisation
- monitor actuals cost against the budget
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business or related field
- Recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CPA). Preferably a member registered with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA)
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 6 - 8 years of experience in general and/or financial accounting.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a performance analyst role in a corporate environment.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to perform complex analyses.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS (E.G. TRAVEL, LOCATION)

DESIRABLE CRITERIA & QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills with fluency in written and spoken English.
- Shared service centre experience.
- Oil and gas industry experience.
